New York, NY (July 1, 2015) - Men love high fashion, too. And they have a new major brand sponsor to prove it.

That seems to be the fashion and marketing statement being powerfully conveyed by a new major sponsorship landed by CFDA's first ever "New York Fashion Week: Men's."

While the women's show is still working to replace long-time title sponsor Mercedes-Benz, the new men's show is off to a great start showcasing a prestigious first-ever automotive backer: Cadillac.

"I am very much interested in taking Cadillac into the world of fashion," Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said to Bloomberg.  This report indicated that Cadillac's decision is premised on the brand's desire to return to the cutting edge of culture. The average buyer of a Cadillac is almost 60 years old, much older than the thirties to early forties age range that is most attractive to luxury brands.

Staying with its initial men's focus, Cadillac will also be the presenting sponsor of New York Men’s Day, a special day formerly set aside during the womenswear-heavy New York Fashion Week to highlight emerging menswear designers.

Other sponsors of New York Fashion Week: Men's, include: Amazon, AXE, Dockers, DreamWorks Animation, Loews Regency Hotel, Shinola, and Fashion GPS.

Tommy Hilfiger, an early champion of New York Fashion Week: Men's, is among the long list of elite designers set to participate in the history-making event. Other renowned designers also include Calvin Klein Collection, Michael Kors, Rag & Bone, Public School, Billy Reid, Todd Snyder, Michael Bastian, Ovadia & Sons, Robert Geller, Duckie Brown, Patrik Ervell, Timo Weiland and Kent and Curwen.

New York Fashion Week: Men's runs July 13-16 at Skylight Clarkson Square in downtown Manhattan. For more information please visit: CFDA.com
