Jennifer Lopez: "Neither one of us wanted it to end."

Jennifer Lopez regarding her divorce from Marc Anthony:

“Neither one of us wanted it to end.”

New York, NY (November 6, 2014) - The fact that Jennifer Lopez is always surrounded by members of her entourage has been a common complaint of all her major love interests.

After a breakup, “I find comfort in another person. Someone would show up and I’d be like, this is cool,” Lopez shared.

These are a few of the interesting revelations global music and film superstar, Jennifer Lopez, shared in front of a sold-out auditorium at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Thursday night. The intimate one-on-one conversation was part of “Latin American Cultural Week,” an annual city-wide festival which highlights the production of dance, film, literature, music, theater, visual and performing arts of the Americas in New York City.
Interviewer Hoda Kotb asked a question along the lines of if JLo could line up the men with whom she’s had meaningful relationships what does she think all would cite as a reason for the breakup, not necessarily the main or only reason, but what would be a common complaint that they all would likely have?
“That I am always surrounded by people,” JLo said.

Lopez went on to explain how attached she is to members of her business team, how they are treated like family. She acknowledged that her large entourage, including her makeup artist, manager, cook, babysitter, etc., are always around her and that this can be an issue for her love partners.
Regarding her breakup with Marc Anthony, she was asked how she knew, how she was sure it was time to end her marriage to the Pop and Salsa music star. Lopez said: “It was so many things. It wasn’t an overnight thing. It wasn’t one thing that happened. It was a slow realization. And we worked very hard on our marriage. We really did. Neither one of us wanted it to end. But at the end of the day –and, again, I will never divulge any details about our really private, intimate life- it just didn’t work out.”

Seven years after their marriage, Lopez and Anthony announced their split in 2011.
Kotb shared a bit about her personal life, too. Kotb said that after a relationship breakup, a police officer approached her to console her and that she ended up dating him. Lopez said she fully related and that after a breakup, “I find comfort in another person. Someone would show up, and I’d be like, this is cool,” as the overwhelmingly female audience relished the moment and burst out in a delightful laughter.

JLo also said that the hit song "Dance Again" was written by Enrique Iglesias, and that she really felt it was made for her as it genuinely connected with the stage of her life she was living at that time.

Want another interesting tidbit about what was said during the interview set-up to promote Lopez’s new book, “True Love”? Ok. Well, interviewer Hoda Kotb said that NBC’s TODAY co-host Matt Lauer said to her that an image from JLo’s “Booty” video is a screensaver on his computer.-
